so then on a particular Friday, 16 June 2006, me, peg, julie, miki, ru, mathen, jj, john, fiona, aki, joel, holmberg, khien, francis, terence, ismail were sitting around 4 joined green round tables. it was after the jamming session of Trippin' Candies and people came randomly. ru passed me the photocopied book Speed Lead, which she said zul wanted to pass it to me. i was very happy. finally a guide to guide me. peggy and ismail talk to each other and disappeared out the alley.
everybody got interested in knowing the juicy details of mathen's great adventure, all and whatever episodes, making him talk. so while he's speaking halfway, people started clapping (i almost clapped too) and sang happy birthday (i stopped when i heard "happy"). i turned and saw peggy holding the cake, ismail guarding at peggy's side as they walk back into the alley. it's a cheesecake! then someone (i forgot who i think it's khien) carried a huge package. a box wrapped in newspaper in the Spiel Toys bag. i'm told to just ripped the newspaper off. normally i like to keep wrappers and tend to open slowly. but this time i ripped the newspaper. and saw a Marshall amp. Marshall. M-a-r-s-h-a-l-l. a 15watt Marshall amp. amp. a-m-p. amp is short for amplifier. a Marshall amp for playing guitar. for me. tt's my birthday present! i seriously dunno wat to say, until even now. so there's such things as loss of words. and i know it's very very expensive. i tried on it... the sound is beautiful... i love it...
so then everybody's waiting for me to cry, cameras standing by and all, but i tried to ta han haha... then they bring the card to me. julie made the card... can see a lot of effort i love it too. it's still this kind of hand-made cards tt brings a lot of love around. and lot's of well wishes signed by all the friends who gave me the amp. plus another card, actually it's an album book (dunno wat's it called) of Trippin' Candies, the lyrics with pictures inside. i've seen it before of course, i've got the softcopy too. but each member signed their names at the pages tt've got their pictures. it's like receiving autographs from your favourite band. i think the printer tt prints this is running out of black and red ink. all the pretty cards... i still have the one given to me last year. who will throw such things away?
then came the other gift tt khien and adam gave me. it's a headphone. h-e-a-d-p-h-o-n-e. sennheiser headphone. i'm using it now haha... love it also... it is when i receive the gift until this point tt i cannot ta han and cry. and there's such things called tears of joy. seriously touching... all the time, effort, $$, love tt's been put into the gifts... it's unexpected too.
the trick of making me go to the guitar store, (went with khien and francis). i really tot francis wanted to buy an amp for his guitar. how nicely planned. tt's oso the day we went to watch a local made film called love story by kelvin tong (i've i got it right?). quite confusing storyline but other than tt it's quite okay... okay tt's a sidetrack...
then the trick of everybody disappearing on 15th june suddenly while i was freezing my ass off in the surround room and making little progress with the project... peggy suddenly need to go to grandma's house, julie who was at FCP (rh told me thru msn across 7 floors) and at home (peg told me tt thru msn across 7 floors too), ismail went to meet his friends (tt's what he said when he came back to ameen).
the silver pen too... hahaha
hahaha anyways tt was cute... i can't say enough thank yous... here's the list of lovely frens who couldn't be there on the day and i'll like to say thanx to again: khai, wendy, danielle, fiona koh, tat, rh, zul, michael, dec, adam. =)
