obsessions

obsessions with chinese opera these days made me dreamt of chinese opera. i'd been wanting to recreate a warming up sequence which failed badly in the first two tries. it failed cos people who heard it will ended up laughing hysterically. that includes myself too. i hope the third one that i did a few days back is not so bad. i'm probably going to listen to it later.

so i ended up dreaming that i was at some shoot, the location happened to be near a chinese opera performance. i was telling someone (forgot who but some sound people) excitedly, "hey! since we've got the location sound equipment, maybe i can take some of the chinese opera sound..."

then my dream changed location to some shopping mall. i don't know what happens to the shoot. i was probably teleported to a new location when i mentioned i want to record the chinese opera.

oh well.

Cars

Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts
(love Cars. one of the cutest film. and this's the theme song!)

Mater and Lighting McQueen

heard that the story is kind of a true story about a small town, which had been catering to the needs of drivers who would like to stop over for a night. this small town eventually is not needed after a new expressway is built, so cars don't need to come by this small town anymore. cars get to travel to their destination faster by the expressway. the small town lost a lot of business. and this is depicted in this film, when a customer (a car) happens to come by, all the shop owners (they're cars as well) rushes out to do promotions. oh well, go watch the film if u haven't. it's like another Bug's Life film, where the story leaves a lingering impression on me.

and this is Guido, he had a story by himself. it makes people proud of him. yes, he's my favourite =)
seems like there isn't much stuff for me to blog about.

catch me if i can

anyways been watching some films on tv at home during this weekend. other than that i've finished keying in the opera songs into midi format. which sounds really robotic and really like shit as well. also trying to fit the song with different chinese instruments. to my great disappointment for some of the patches. i realised i still have to record playing those notes physically in sch. but isn't it even better to have musician play it for recording instead? saves all the trouble and the lives of brain cells. so is there anybody out there who happenes to play erhu or knows ppl who plays erhu? i see myself faltering working on whatever i'm working on and not getting much out of it.

now that the birthday plannings are over, it definitely gives me more time to get things done. i'll just comfort myself about the fact that at least i have the notes out. and then? yeah and then i'll have to piece everything nicely somehow. i dun think i enjoyed the birthday thing that much come to think of it. maybe it's just the diarrhoea. well, i still think it didn't turn out that bad at all. in fact it was great fun. i would agree to that if i had felt better.

i enjoyed the lives of the characters in the films more than my own. but then again, all because of some stupid songs and music?

if only i knew how to play erhu.

well, catch me if i can.
